We Share Your Passion for Wine...and the Amazing Sights in Wine Country

Wine, as the saying goes, takes time.  And so does crafting a website devoted to wine and all the good things that come along with it, like good food, amazing scenery, and decadent resorts and hotels.  We’re not quite ready to pull the cork just yet, but hope you’ll check in anyway–leave us a comment and say hello.  Let us know what you love about wine, dining and travel, and what you’d like to know. Where have you always wanted to visit? What have you always wanted to know? Who have you met in your travels–in a tasting room or a vineyard tour–that really made your entire trip?  Where did you stay and what spots would you recommend to your friends?

These are the kind of conversations we’ll be having at Vinitrek.  You don’t have to know anything about wine other than what you enjoy;  and we hope you’ll share it with us.

We may offer a few sneak previews in the next few weeks, but our “official” launch is set for summer.  In the meantime, you can follow us as we prepare the site via Twitter by following @vinitrek.

    Mark,

Congrats on the launch. I am looking forward to reading and learning as you develop the site. My wife and I just came back from Napa Valley where we were able to buy great wine at good prices. We don’t buy much wine in NYC because it is so much more expensive here. Do you know of any grocery stores or “beverage warehouse” type establishments that don’t mark up wine as ridiculously as most do?

    Thanks!

      Frank,

We do a couple of things… we signed up with a favorite winery of ours in Napa, which gets us regular shipments of wine right from the winery at prices lower than you get even in California (and it’s always a happy day when the box shows up!) and we like to wander the wine shops near our place in Brooklyn. We’ve found some great wines at good prices lately, especially some really nice Sicilian wines over the summer.
